IVF Options

There are many reasons couples look abroad for IVF programs, including affordability, success rates and the number of embryos you’re able to have transferred but infact it’s quite straight forward and the clinics are very familiar with co-ordinating International patients. Once they have your tests results, ages and infertility history, they will begin to plan the cycle with you and issue a step-by-step schedule to follow.

Firstly, you need to decide where you would like to go, factor in airfares and Hotel/accommodation and decide whether you want to start medication with the clinic or at home.
If you start medication with the clinic, there may be additional savings if the medication costs are high in your country. You will need to plan to be at the clinic for 18-20 days.

If you start medication at home, the clinic may be able to provide a script, which can be used at on-line international pharmacies or your own specialist may prescribe the same for you. You will additionally need one or two scans during the preparation period to monitor your progress and allow for any adjustment in the dosages required.
With this option your stay at the clinic will be app 7 -8 days.

Screening/Tests: Will be according to the regulatory guidelines of the clinic.

They will usually request the female to have hormone level tests performed on day 2 or 3 of her cycle (no more than 6 months old prior to proceeding).
FSH, LH, Estradiol, Prolactin, TSH and AMH.

Additionally an ultrasound scan. This is to check for fibroids, cysts, polyps or fluids in the úteros that may affect your chances of success.

The male partner will require a sperm analysis.

Both partners require infectious disease tests .This is to ensure your baby does not receive any infection passed on.
Tests usually include:
Syphilis, hepatitis B and C, HIV, Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia.
